Considerations to Keep in Mind for Choosing an Elevator Brand

Elevators have made it more convenient and hassle-free for everyone to move up and down the floors of high-rise buildings. They were invented sometime in the mid-19th century and ever since have become one of the favourite inventions of mankind. As the years passed by, elevators saw more and more features being added to make their operation much smoother. Elevators have a service span of about 30-40 years (approximately); however, this also depends on the brand you choose. That being said, with frequent quality checks and proper maintenance, the service span can be increased for a little longer. With various manufacturers of elevator systems in the market today, it has become easier for people to make a choice. However, there are a few factors that one needs to keep in mind while choosing an elevator company for the best results. Read to know about the two most important factors that you should consider when choosing an elevator manufacturer!

The Type of Elevator

Whether you purchase an elevator in Bangalore, Delhi, or any other city, one of the most important factors to consider is the type of elevator you want. You have options like residential elevators, commercial lifts, machine-room less (MRL) elevators, and so on. And, to choose the best elevator manufacturer, you need to first decide the type of elevator. Just to give you a better idea, residential elevators have a lower load-bearing capacity while commercial ones are designed with a higher load-bearing capacity depending on their operation. On the other hand, MRL elevators are those that don’t require a special room for placing the motor and run on a permanent magnet motor. Once you have decided the type of elevator you need, you can select a manufacturer that holds good experience in the manufacture and maintenance of those types of elevators.

Brand’s Experience

Another factor to consider is the experience that the brand holds in the elevator industry. You can go for a newly established company as well but if you are sceptical about it, you should choose a company that has good experience in the field. You don’t have to worry about the quality, durability, and maintenance of the elevators with well-established brands. Brand experience also matters because they have better knowledge about handling after-sale services and take care of customer satisfaction to the best extent.

Also check the cost of installation, maintenance, and other charges involved. Choose a brand that is reliable and offers you the best quality elevators.

Reasons Why You Need an Air Curtain at Your Restaurant

As a restaurant owner, you may face many challenges, some of which are being able to keep your customers safe, being able to save energy, and keeping pests outside your premises. While there will be many other challenges for you to solve, the aforementioned are some that can easily be dealt with if you install an air curtain by Mitsubishi Electric India. An air curtain is placed over a door in order to create a powerful air seal over the opening.

Here are some of the top reasons why you should consider getting an air curtain by Mitsubishi Electric India installed at your restaurant:

Increases Customer Comfort

Keeping the customer happy is something that is imperative for any business. Maintaining a comfortable temperature inside the premises is a very important part of ensuring customer satisfaction and an air curtain can help you do that. The strong air-flow ensures that the warm or cool air inside remains inside. At the same time, the temperature is not affected by the outside weather.

Reduces Energy Costs

Keeping the door open is a proven way of attracting customers, but the open door can also lead to the hot or cold air outside getting in. This makes it very difficult for the restaurant’s air conditioning system to maintain the temperature it is supposed to. This, in turn, leads to the system overworking and generating high electricity bills. An air curtain, on the other hand, creates an invisible barrier, preventing the inflow and outflow of air, which protects the temperature inside. This means less wear and tear for your heating or cooling system and lesser electricity costs.

Promotes a Clean Environment

Air curtains restrict flying insects and other pollutants like traffic fumes, pollen, and dust from getting inside the restaurant. Creating an effective seal by re-circulating the facility air across a doorway, they make it harder for the outside air and pollutants to penetrate the air curtain.

Reduces Strain on Existing Heating or Cooling Systems

As mentioned before, with an air curtain, there is less stress on your heating or cooling system, which helps it last longer. Less usage of the air conditioning system also helps increase the lifespan and functionality of the same.

Choose from the range of air curtains by Mitsubishi Electric India and help your restaurant grow!

The Different Types of Elevators

Elevators form an integral part of our lives. In our society, which is replete with sky-high buildings, elevators are not only symbolic of luxury but an absolute necessity. Nowadays, there are various types of elevators available in the market, with each of them designed to suit a particular requirement.

Elevators can broadly be classified into two categories, which are mentioned below-

Traction Elevators

Traction elevators are the most commonly used and highly reliable elevators, in which the car is raised and lowered by steel ropes or belts on a pulley system. In comparison to other elevators, they use lesser energy and ride smoother. They are primarily designed to serve mid-to high-rise buildings and are driven by alternating current (AC) or direct current (DC) electric motors. They are further classified into three types-

  • Geared Traction Elevators: These use a large-sized motor with a reducer and gears.
  • Gearless Traction Elevators: These use permanent magnets for their operations.
  • Machine-Room-Less (MRL) Traction Elevators: These elevators do not have a dedicated machine room above the elevator shaft.

Hydraulic Elevators

Hydraulic elevators are highly efficient elevators that are powered by a hydraulic jack, which are fluid-driven pistons travelling inside a cylinder. These elevators use the compression of fluids to generate movement. The sole objective of using hydraulic elevators is to transport heavy industrial loads such as machinery and other equipment. These reliable elevators are quicker and less expensive to install and occupy much less space in a building. They can further be divided into the following types-

  • Holed Hydraulic Elevators: In holed hydraulic elevators, the hydraulic cylinders are placed inside a drilled hole.
  • Hydraulic Elevators devoid of holes: This type of elevator doesn’t make use of drilled holes.
  • Roped Hydraulic Elevators: Roped hydraulic elevators use cables and a piston attached to a sheave for transporting the load.
  • Machine Room-Less (MRL) Hydraulic Elevators: In these types of elevators, the hydraulic lift mechanisms are located in the hoist-way instead of a separate machine room.

Further, with the advancements in technology, the costs involved in the manufacture of elevators have reduced considerably, making them quite affordable. Thus, you can install them easily without worrying much about your budget.
